Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a holistic form of health care that focuses on the nervous system, which is in the spinal column. The brain and spinal cord send messages to all parts of the body to keep them healthy. The nervous system also controls the process of healing. As a chiropractor in practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Weyrauch locates these areas where the nerves are damaged and provides treatment to remove that impairment, so the body can then heal itself.

People often have problems over a long period because the nervous system is damaged and is not able to regulate the health of those tissues that are affected. Such problems often include headaches, neck pain, back pain, digestive issues, heart disorders, or other conditions or symptoms that plague people over time.

Providing Comfortable Techniques

Dr. Weyrauch will evaluate you to determine what the problem is and then lay out a program to correct that problem. Chiropractic treatment is a conditioning process to change the function of the spine over time so the nervous system can maintain its proper function and help heal the body. It’s up to you to choose the type of care that you want—basically relief of your symptoms or correction.

We incorporate various techniques based on your condition and use those throughout each treatment session. Activator Methods®, Thompson, Terminal Point and Diversified are all used. These techniques are gentle and highly effective. In fact, 99% of people feel better following an adjustment. Dr. Weyrauch will ensure that you’re comfortable at all times. We’re not here to crack bones!

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Chiropractic Care?

Misalignments, also known as subluxations, are problems that can develop in the spine and interfere with the brain’s ability to receive accurate information from the body. As a result, the brain’s ability to regulate the body to keep it healthy is adversely affected, potentially leading to various health problems beyond just pain. Chiropractic adjustments aim to correct subluxations, allowing for improved communication between the brain and the body.

What Types of Symptoms or Conditions Are You Treating?

Chiropractic does not treat symptoms. Rather, chiropractic care is focused on restoring brain and nervous system function by rebooting or reprogramming the brain to restore communication pathways between the brain and body. In particular, chiropractic adjustments have been shown scientifically to have a positive effect on a part of the brain known as the prefrontal cortex.

The prefrontal cortex helps to regulate movement control, pain processing, executive function (working memory, self-monitoring, task initiation, flexible thinking, planning and prioritizing), emotional control and mental health, impulse control, neuro-endocrine functions, inflammation levels, autonomic nervous system activity, empathy, and immune functions. The prefrontal cortex regulates thoughts, actions, and emotions through extensive connections with other brain regions.

What Will Care Feel Like?

The specific locations of nerve dysfunction that need to be restored are sensitive by nature. Chiropractic care targeted to these areas may result in mild discomfort. However, children and seniors can manage the care without issue through the techniques we utilize. Our primary technique is instrument-based. The names of the instruments are Impulse and Activator. The doctor is sensitive to each person’s threshold of pain and provides appropriate stimulus based on the individual and the severity of their condition.

The New Patient Journey

Our primary focus is alleviating your symptoms to the point where we can go through a thorough exam. It is almost always necessary to start off with frequent care. That frequency is usually more than once a week initially until the majority of your problem is resolved. Dr. Weyrauch will also re-examine you to make sure your body is progressing.
